金龙社区在陆城东面，与城东街道交界，辖区含金碣路、环城路和东河路的部分路段及沿街铺面，下设龟山、后壁洋、洪厝围3个居民小组和马街、前圩、后圩、菜园、彩园5个村民小组，共2236户10690人[1]。辖区内有东海第二中学[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网所列沿革称，金龙居委会1987年自原红光居委会分出设立，1994年改居民管理区，1999年复称居委会，2002年起为金龙社区居民委员会；同页的简介则写成立于1988年7月10日，两处日期不一[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，社区入选广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单（2018年度）；2020年12月获评「广东省卫生村」（2020年度）[2]。
