关于村名，博雅地名网的说法是：村境内有卧龙山，村名取自这座山。[1]
建置方面：1949年为龙玉湖乡，归龙村輋八区；1958年随龙村公社改称金龙大队；1977年有金龙乡政府；1989年称管理区，1999年成村民委员会。[1]
