金龙社区属新津街道，原辛厝寮村的一部分，名称取金港之“金”与龙湖之“龙”。[1]

1995年1月设居委会，东邻高埕，西到泰山路，南接金津、金凤，北连周厝塭；辖区0.20平方公里，150户共700人，流动人口另有300人。[1]
在2019年9月公布的名单中，入选广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代为澄海县蓬洲都辖地，民国属该县第三区。1953年设下蓬区辛厝寮乡，之后随大队、公社的调整多次改隶。1992年7月，辛厝寮村划归新津街道；1994年11月村委会被撤销，原村分设为9个居委会，本社区是其一。2002年起称社区居民委员会。[2]
