历史沿革[edit]
清顺治七年（1650年）立村。1950年属二区平西乡，接着1952年起属高北乡，随后1958年为公平公社高北大队，再后来1974年以赤坭为首的四个自然村另立赤坭大队，此后1987年改村委会，接着1989年改管理区，随后1998年复设村委会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
辖余坑、洋西坑、赤坭三个自然村，村委会设赤坭。[1]
人口民族[edit]
总人口1020多人，耕地950多亩，山坡地4500亩。[1]
经济[edit]
以水稻、甘蔗、花生为主，村民也做手工业和小买卖，或到镇上当制衣工、做服务业。2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
