新寨村属梅州市五华县横陂镇，是该镇的一个行政村，位于镇域东南部[1]。据博雅地名网所载，全村下设8个村民小组，登记在册255户、1326人[1]。

地名由来与历史沿革[edit]

先建的村寨称老寨，后来在其后新建的住宅区称为“新寨”，村名因此而定。[1]

村级建制的变迁：1949年为新寨乡，1958年建有新寨大队，1983年易名为新寨乡政府，1989年叫作新寨管理区，1999年易名为新寨村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月，新寨村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
