历史沿革[edit]
村名为纪念宋代将军杨文广。据村情资料，宋仁宗皇祐年间（1049—1053年），广源州侬智高反宋，攻陷邕州并围广州，朝廷派杨文广领兵南征，途经此地歇息扎寨，后人因此取名杨文。[1]
此地在宋代属扎（田）杨（文）乡，元代归长田堡；明嘉靖四十二年设平远县，扎杨乡自原辖区析出，改属程乡县的东厢所；民国时仍称扎杨乡。1949年设杨文乡，隶属城北区；1956年撤区并乡，归城西乡。1958年改设杨文大队，属卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社），1960年改属新设的城北人民公社。1983年设杨文乡，1987年改为村民委员会，隶属城北乡，1989年称杨文管理区。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料载，全村有307户、1350人，总面积5.34平方公里，耕地935亩，种水稻和沙田柚，蔬菜是特色收入；所记上一年农村经济总收入1111万元（年份未注明）。[1]
2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
