历史沿革[edit]
村由西园、磜下和玉水村的一部分合并而成，取名玉西。[1]
1949年设玉西乡，隶属城北区；1956年撤区并乡，归城西乡。1958年改设玉西大队，属卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）；1960年城北人民公社从梅城人民公社分设，该村随之改属。1983年恢复乡的建制，归城北区管辖；1987年改为村民委员会，隶属城北乡；1989年称玉西管理区；1998年定名为玉西村村民委员会，隶属城北镇。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料载，全村有324户、1213人，总面积7.5平方公里，耕地1308亩，主要种水稻；所记上一年农村经济总收入1585万元（年份未注明）。玉西原是区内的产煤村，运煤大车损毁了村道，村里打算重新修整。[1]
2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
