历史沿革[edit]
相传清嘉庆年间（1796—1820年），有德国商人在此开采银矿，留下许多矿洞，村名由此而来。[1]
1949年设银营乡，隶属城北区；1956年撤区并乡，归城西乡。1958年改设银营大队，属卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）；1960年城北人民公社从梅城人民公社分设，该村随之改属。1983年设银营乡，归城北区管辖；1987年改为村民委员会，隶属城北乡；1989年称银营管理区；1998年定名为银营村村民委员会，隶属城北镇。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料载，全村有341户、1426人，耕地1374亩，种水稻和沙田柚；所记上一年农村经济总收入1500万元（年份未注明）。村民靠种果、养猪、养鱼和外出务工为生，村集体经济较薄弱，村道由乡贤和群众集资完善。[1]
2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
