历史沿革[edit]
村名来由是这里以前有一座塔，现已倒塌，故称塔下。[1]
1949年设塔下乡，隶属城北区；1956年撤区并乡，归城西乡。1958年改设塔下大队，属卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）；1960年城北人民公社从梅城人民公社分设，该村随之改属。1983年设塔下乡，归城北区管辖；1987年改为村民委员会，隶属城北乡；1989年称塔下管理区；1998年定名为塔下村村民委员会，隶属城北镇。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料载，全村有391户、1330人，总面积7.53平方公里，耕地952亩，种水稻和柚子；所记上一年农村经济总收入1501万元（年份未注明）。村里投入30多万元建办公综合楼，出租店面增加集体收入，主村道装了路灯，获市生态村称号。[1]
2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
