平海社区位于广东省惠州市惠东县平海镇，是镇下辖的社区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，名称的由来是这里地势较低较平，海拔与海面几乎相同。[1]

这一带在清同治九年（1870年）归和平约堡，由平海司巡检管理，称平海所。进入民国后，1931年8月划入惠阳县平海第五区，称平海镇。1959年起为平海居民大队，1987年3月据惠东府函〔1987〕12号批复称居委，2002年依粤民基〔2002〕5号文定为现名。[2]
