历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村在海边，沙石多呈赤褐色，因而得名。[1]
1972年是赤砂大队，1980年改作赤砂乡，1987年3月据惠东府函〔1987〕21号批复定名赤砂村委，1989年起设管理区，1998年称村委会。[1]
文化[edit]
2023年4月，赤砂村在「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村创建单位名单」之列；2026年1月又被评为「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
