历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村内有佛岭和麦园两个较大的自然村，人口较多，取佛岭的“佛”和麦园的“园”二字，得名佛园。该网页的标题写作“佛元村”。[1]
1959年设立大队；1983年改设为乡；1987年3月据惠东府函〔1987〕23号批复定名佛园村委会；1989年设立管理区；1998年改设村民委员会。[1]
