名称与沿革[edit]

该村1949年前叫老围；1953年起，村民不愿守旧、求新进取，改称新前。[1]

清代属苏州巡检司，1729年（雍正七年）归宁集；民国属清平乡显村圩；1949年后属柏塘区公所四区新前乡，1958年为柏塘人民公社新前大队，1973年改属杨村人民公社，1986年1月为杨村镇新前管理区；1990年起由新前村民委员会管理。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把新前村定为2021年度乡村治理示范村创建单位。[1]
