新兴村是封开县江川镇北部的行政村，临西江，与县城江口隔江相望，距镇政府2.5公里，2008年总人口1360人。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地解放前称新乐乡；1958年成立人民公社时定名新兴大队，取新的开始、人畜兴旺之意。[1]1983年叫新兴乡；自1987年起为新兴村委会，沿用至今。[1]

经济与社会[edit]

耕地合计1122亩，水田768亩，旱地364亩；林地4393亩。村民小组共5个：新贤、麻园、地头一、地头二和联合。居民收入主要来自水稻、蔬菜、高竹和水果，蔬菜供应县城江口。2008年集体收入15000元，党员24人。[1]2019年9月，该村名列2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
