木头塘村隶属高州市荷花镇，是镇下辖的行政村，属镇乡结合区。村委会驻地在木头塘圩周围，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前这里是木头塘乡，设乡政府；建国后办过初级社和高级社，1961年体制下放才成立大队，1983年改设乡，1986年改设农村管理区，1999年起为村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]木头塘村进入2019年10月公布的当年广东省卫生村名单。[1]

木头塘圩即今荷花镇政府驻地荷花圩的旧称，荷花镇也曾叫木头塘镇（见荷花镇）。[2]
