1961年设樟丰、五丰、洪尤三个大队，1963年三队并一^[1]。1983年设乡，1986年设农村管理区，1999年定为洪尤村民委员会^[1]。

2019年9月，洪尤村进入民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单；2021年9月以荔枝入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，12月获2021年广东省卫生村称号^[1]。
