历史沿革[edit]
上俗乡在解放前就有，解放后设乡政府。[1]1961年体制下放，下俗、六马、辛田等大队从上俗大队中划出，上俗大队部位置不变，名称也就不变；1983年改设乡，1986年改设农村管理区，1999年起为村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予上俗村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
姓氏宗族[edit]
相传最早到此定居的是黎氏和揭氏，后来邓、古、黄、梁、李、孙等姓陆续迁来。人多以后，各姓商定按姓氏分族居住，住在上方的称“上族”，住在下方的称“下族”；因“族”与“俗”谐音，改写成“上俗”和“下俗”。[1]
经济[edit]
村里的主要经济作物是香蕉，另有皮革加工，以农户加公司的方式承接来料。[2]
