历史沿革[edit]
相传古时潘姓人家从广西北流的蟠龙迁到这里，村便以祖籍地命名，后来写成潘龙。到明清年间，村里已没有潘姓人，名称却一直沿用。[1]
潘龙大队在解放前属木头塘乡，解放后曾并入木头塘大队；1961年后，从木头塘大队中划出六赠、双底等点，以潘龙为中心设大队部，称潘龙大队。1983年改设乡，1986年改设农村管理区，1999年起为村民委员会。[1]
荣誉有：2019年9月列入「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的2018年度名单；2019年10月入选广东省卫生村名录；2019年12月入选国家林业和草原局公布的第二批国家森林乡村；2022年1月被广东省乡村振兴局确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
经济[edit]
主要经济作物是香蕉，另有竹子、速生桉和皮革加工，并发展莲子种植。村内建有森林公园、绿道、荷花池和文化广场等设施。[2]
