下村属广东省茂名市高州市泗水镇，是镇下辖的行政村[1]。民间说法认为，村子从前较为富裕，邻近山珠塘村的贫困村民来借粮时，被指引到「下一个村」，村名便由此叫开[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

下村原为泗水大队的一部分；1962年单列，1963年与雅瑶阁合编为下村大队[1]。1983年设乡，1986年设农村管理区，1999年改称下村村民委员会[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予该村2021年广东省卫生村称号[1]。2019年9月，它进入民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单；2026年3月，又被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇[1]。
