洪坡原是第二行政村（1953年），1956年同第一行政村里屋湾合并，迁到现址并称洪坡；其后1958年起为洪坡大队，属河堤公社，1987年起称作洪坡管理区，1999年起改称洪坡村委会[1]。
2021年1月，洪坡村入选「湛江市2020年度全市文明村」名单[1]。
