历史沿革[edit]
南村原称白藤乡，2000年改称南村乡，村名取村委会设在白藤乡南侧之意；其下含南村（余姓）、上村（胡姓）、海边村（陈姓）三个姓氏村。[1][3]
经济[edit]
耕地和鱼塘合计1097亩。2009年全村工农业总产值4.8亿元，较2008年的4.1亿元增长17%，农村人均纯收入8668元。[2]村内有化工、玻璃、制衣、五金、电子、灯饰等行业的企业40多家，工业区面积400多亩；农业产塘鱼、生猪、家禽和蔬菜，荷塘大头菜加工厂的产品销往海外。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内有省级文物保护单位余经石牌坊。[2]
2017年10月获首批广东省卫生村称号；2026年1月，村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
