大垌村是廉江市新民镇的行政村，下属大垌、读碑、官岭、书房仔和老鸦塘5条自然村；村民约2560人，耕地1867亩，出产荔枝、龙眼、稻谷、花生和蕃薯。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来是此地田垌开阔，村民便以“大垌”命名。[1]1950年隶廉江县第一区，1953年立大垌乡，1958年归红旗公社，称大垌大队，1963年转属新民公社；1983年改为乡，1987年为管理区，1999年成为村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，大垌村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
