大路边村是廉江市新民镇的行政村，辖西岭、木根山、岭尾、大路边村等16条自然村；村民约5341人，耕地3914亩，种外运菜、稻谷，并以牧草养牛。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代，先祖看中廉江通往安铺的大路旁的一块地方，定居下来，村名由此而来。[1]1950年以前属同南小乡；1950年从新塘乡分出，另建大路边乡；1958年为大路边大队，隶新民公社；1983年改乡，并迁到离红桥约200米的现址；1987年为管理区，1999年成为村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
