地名由来[edit]

村名由「红色」与「进步」两层意思合成，是建村时村民所取。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归登名都，民国时期属第九区沙冈乡，新中国成立后属七区，1955年属水口区，1961年属水口公社。1974年设红进大队，1984年改称红进乡人民政府，1989年称红进管理区；1993年随沙冈区另置，2005年起归水口镇管辖，村级组织自1999年起称红进村民委员会。[1]

水口镇人民政府2026年4月发布的镇简介提到，镇内有以红进命名的汽车销售街，与升宝广场等成熟商圈并列。[2]
