地名由来[edit]

村委会下辖十三个自然村，整体坐北朝南，故名泮南。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归古博都，民国时期属第十区泮村乡。新中国成立后属八区泮南乡，1955年属水口区泮村乡，1961年属水口公社，称泮南大队，又称红星大队。1984年改称泮南乡政府，1989年称泮南管理区，1993年起属开平市水口镇，1999年定名泮南村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

抗日遗址水口地堡在泮南村委会辖内的沙岗头村和太和里，年代为1941年3月至9月间。博雅地名网记载它于2007年10月18日公布为江门市第三批文物保护单位；维基百科则称其为开平市文物保护单位，公布时间同为2007年10月。[1][2]

经济[edit]

水口镇政府介绍，水口工业园占地约4500亩，分四期开发，位于国道325线水口路段，在泮南围和江水公路、台山过境公路的交汇处一带，园内企业150多家（2024年4月的介绍）。[3]
