窖西村是汕头市澄海区莲下镇西北部的行政村，韩江南溪南侧、三面环山。古与窖东合称窖美，1900年分村；2004年被评为省级生态示范村。[1][2]村里华侨有960多人，多在泰国。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

相传宋时已有吴、李二姓居住，戴姓约在1600年（明万历年间）从潮州归湖迁入。1949年改称窖西，1961年设生产大队，1984年与窖东、管陇合称窖陇乡，1987年后独立设村。1993年被省民政厅确认为老区村。[2]

人口姓氏[edit]

村域0.45平方千米，耕地251亩，山地150亩。2009年底185户769人，有戴、王、蔡、林4姓，戴为主姓，王姓来自德邻。[2]

经济[edit]

1970至80年代以稻和果树为主，1990年代起多种草莓和蔬菜，北洋鲤鱼较有名。1992年开辟面前工业区；同年戴斌办起汕沪电缆厂，该厂研制的全介质自承式光缆被列入国家级星火计划。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

缶灶山东面山坡有宋代窑址，村内戴厝祠建于明末。[2]
