建阳村是汕头市澄海区莲下镇中部的行政村，位于莲阳河北侧，是镇上人口最多的村之一。1352年（元至正十二年）福建莆田的陈姓为避乱迁来，初称陈厝，1938年改今名。[1][2]村里1860年办起澄海第一家鱼露厂，1937年澄海县工委机关设在村内。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1938年，村名取陈姓始祖陈德厚之父陈建阳之名，由陈厝改称建阳。1949年12月与许厝、李厝宫合称建睦乡，1950年与槐泽乡合为槐睦镇，1956年与德邻合称德邻乡，1958年编入105团，1959年起独立设村。[1][2]

人口姓氏[edit]

村域2.08平方千米，耕地1720亩。2009年底2568户10629人，有陈、朱、黄、郑等32姓，陈为主姓。村里记载的旅外侨胞5000多人，多年来为家乡福利事业捐资合计港币2326万元。[2]

经济[edit]

建阳靠近莲阳集市，村民多经商。1860年陈得兴号办鱼露厂，1949年前已有钱庄、批局和商号122家。村内有沙坟、大坪2个工业区，截至2008年底有企业141家，做塑料玩具、工艺服装和食品化工。当地种的建阳芥蓝销往东南亚。[2]

文化教育[edit]

启新小学堂创办于1906年，属澄海最早的一批小学堂，民国时期还办过养和小学、南洋女校和苏湾师范。村民好潮州音乐，1949年前有8个锣鼓班，现有建阳潮乐社等3个潮乐社。1987年落成的建阳乐园，为莲下镇首个农村公园。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

全村有祠堂20座，其中孝天公祠建于清光绪年间，嵌瓷、木雕、石刻有特色；南岐古庙俗称三爷宫，建于明末。遗址有古营盘、提标营等。[2]

著名人物[edit]

1937年，澄海县工委机关设于村中元泽巷的维吾斋；1947年澄饶丰县委在大兴街协利锡箔店开会，发生了“四陈事件”。村里出过陈秋波、张震等早期革命者，以及原全国侨联副主席吴风、法国巴黎科学院院士陈庆浩等。[2]
