雷岭镇是广东省汕头市潮南区南部的建制镇，位于大南山南麓，东南至西南同惠来县相邻。[1]下辖1个社区、14个行政村，镇政府设在双老社区。[1][3]当地以荔枝种植为主业，是经省确认的革命老区镇。[2][3]1986年由雷岭区改为镇。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

雷岭一带宋元时期属新兴乡。明代、清代直到民国初年，归潮阳县黄陇都管辖；1921年划入第九区，1935年前后由南山管理局管辖。[1][3]新中国成立后，建置几经调整：博雅地名网记1949年10月属潮阳县第十二区、1952年改属第十三区，百度百科则记1950年属潮阳县第10区；1956年分设五含、麻溪、东园三乡。[1][4]

1958年雷岭划入惠来县，1961年重归潮阳县，成立雷岭人民公社；1983年底公社改作区，1986年又撤区建镇。1993年潮阳撤县设市，雷岭镇属潮阳市；2003年1月潮阳市分设潮阳、潮南两区，雷岭镇属潮南区。[3]

镇名取自西北方的雷岭峰。[4]辖区内的村名多由开基、地形或草木而来：双老、双新原为同一处双溪，后来分作两村；茶园因昔日漫山种油茶树而得名；龟山因附近山形如龟而得名。[3]

地理环境[edit]

雷岭镇在潮南区南部、大南山中段的南麓，属丘陵山区。百度百科记全镇面积63.19平方千米，博雅地名网记约66平方千米；镇域东南至西南与揭阳市惠来县接壤，东北到西北依次与成田镇、两英镇、红场镇相连。[1][3]博雅地名网转述的概况称，镇内有山地约7.5万亩、耕地约0.7万亩，建有大小水库31座。[4]

气候为南亚热带季风气候。据博雅地名网所载资料，年平均气温21.8℃，年日照约2200小时，年降水量1800至2100毫米；土壤是花岗岩发育的赤红壤。[4]

交通上，司神公路（省道235线）经过镇区，揭惠高速公路也从境内通过。[2][4]

人口民族[edit]

截至2020年末，全镇户籍人口48122人。[1]第七次全国人口普查结果为3.88万人，在潮南区各街道、镇中居第10位。[3]各村姓氏各异：东老、东新以张姓为主，龟山、济美等村有雷、蓝等姓，松林村以吕、罗两姓为多，鹅地村有彭、董、陈、黄等姓。[3]

荔枝是雷岭的主导产业。百度百科称雷岭荔枝明代中期开始栽培，已有五百多年历史，全镇种植面积约4.4万亩，品种有黑叶、桂味、糯米糍、妃子笑等，2023年获国家地理标志证明商标，并多年出口北美。[5]2019年9月，雷岭镇（荔枝）被农业农村部认定为第九批全国“一村一品”示范村镇；2021年4月又进入农业产业强镇创建名单。[3]东老村、东新村于2020年8月入选首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村，产品同为荔枝。[3]

此外镇内还种香蕉、油甘、龙眼等水果。2020年末，镇内工业企业共6家，其中规模以上2家。[1]

革命历史[edit]

雷岭是粤东的革命老区。据博雅地名网的概况，1927年至1937年间，东江特委和红军四十七团曾在此活动，镇内留有红军医院、印刷厂、被服厂、中医局，以及彭湃、杨殷主办的第八分校等遗址；1927年彭湃也多次来此开展活动。[4]各村遗存见相应条目，如鹅地村的彭湃演讲台、麻埔村的彭杨第八分校旧址、霞厝村的东江特委旧址群。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

百度百科列出的镇内景点有鹅地温泉、赤坪瀑布和南溪情人桥。[1]据博雅地名网，鹅地一带的温泉水温最高达100℃。[4]郭诚然墓是明代墓葬，在麻竹埔村山地，2010年3月22日公布为汕头市文物保护单位。[3]霞厝村的老寨位于海拔386米处，寨内有传统民居。[3]
