双老社区是汕头市潮南区雷岭镇镇区所在的居民委员会，也是全镇唯一的社区，雷岭镇人民政府设于此。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
两条小溪在此汇合，旧称双溪；后来分作双老、双新两处，双老位于双溪以北，是先祖开基之地，因此得名。[1]据记载，清康熙元年（1662年）先祖迁来定居。[1]
自明清至民国初年，隶潮阳县黄陇都，1921年属潮阳县第九区，1933年归南山移垦委员会（后改南山管理局）。1950年划入雷岭乡，人民公社化后为双老大队，1983年划归双溪乡，1986年更名称双老居委会，1992年编入双溪管理区，1999年复设居委会建制。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
