东新村是汕头市潮南区雷岭镇下辖的行政村，在镇区西南部，属革命老区。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
与东老村同出东洋，后分为东新、东老。[1]明天顺元年（1457年），张姓先祖由福建迁居于此。[1]1958年起为东新大队，1983年划归老东洋乡，1986年更名东新村委会，1992年编入老东洋管理区，1999年复设村委会。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
全村居民3232人，计629户，姓氏有张、陈、林等，耕地535亩、山地5759亩，以荔枝为主业。村内办有无公害荔枝基地，2008年起连续三年承办“汕头·潮南荔枝旅游节”。[1]
荣誉方面：2017年10月获首批广东省卫生村称号；2019年入选第二批国家森林乡村名单；2020年8月列入首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村（荔枝）。[1]
