西一社区在汕头市潮阳区西胪镇，榕江下游西岸，是西胪镇人民政府所在地[1][3]。社区由西胪村分出，因序号一得名[2]，面积7.078平方千米，户籍人口11778人[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，公元1425年先祖在榕江西岸择地立乡，见岸边芦苇丛生，称西芦，后改西胪；西胪乡的始祖分两房，兄弟分家后居寨内、寨外，寨外一支发展为今日的西一社区[1][3]。该页写创村在明万历二年，并括注为1504年，万历二年实为1574年，百度百科的西二社区条目即作1574年[1]。

1956年西胪村分成西一、西二两个聚落，1964年起叫西一大队，1988年设管理区，1999年更名为西一居委会，沿用至今[1][3]。

经济[edit]

2013年社区集体收入165万元，年人均收入6728元；经济以农业和建筑业为主，有建筑工程队和海淡水养殖场，出产莲藕、鱼、虾、蟹[1]。社区辖区内设有派出所、邮电、农行等机构[1]。
