地名与历史[edit]
村东临榕江，位于虎山末端，俗称「陂尾」，后雅称波美[2]。南宋建炎三年（1129年），祖先到此建村，名龙波村，其后写作龙波、龙陂、陂尾；新中国成立后称波美村，1984年改乡，1988年起为管理区，1999年起为居委会[1]。百度百科记开基始祖为黄詹，其于该年任潮州知军州事时定居此地[3]。
名胜古迹[edit]
古雪岩在社区的虎山北麓，是依天然石洞所建的佛寺，唐贞元六年（790年）始建，1985年公布为潮阳区文物保护单位[4][5]。黄詹墓在马头埔，隶属宋代古墓葬，2010年3月22日被公布为汕头市文物保护单位[1]。社区另有观音山奇石公园、长美岩，以及莲花文化公园内的书法创作基地[1][3]。
经济[edit]
2013年村集体收入90万元，农民年人均收入6608元，经济以农业和建筑业为主；耕地1860亩、山地802.5亩[1]。
