东涌社区是广州市南沙区东涌镇下辖的社区，驻镇政府所在的东涌街一带，属城乡分类中的主城区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区名称源自东涌街，即清雍正年间围垦的吉祥围东侧河涌旁逐渐形成的集市。[1]居民委员会设于20世纪70年代初；自1984年起，全镇的非农业户口居民都归它管理。2002年起，这个机构称东涌社区居民委员会，至今未变。[1]

荣誉[edit]

东涌社区在2019年9月进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之列；同年的2021年11月，它被市住建部门认定为「广州市2021年绿色社区」；2024年11月又被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区」。[1]
