石基村是东涌镇东北端的行政村。它西面以骝岗水道同大同村分开，北面隔沙湾水道遥对沙湾镇陇枕，毗邻东导、东涌、大稳等村。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
村名的缘由是村里有不少大石块。[1]村子清末开村，行政上清代归沙湾都，民国时期归永安乡。[1]1952年十个自然村并成石基；1953年设石基乡；1958年公社化后，石基与沙头同为一个大队，其间一度分设又重合；1984年称乡，1987年起设村民委员会。[1][2]
人口与经济[edit]
据村情介绍，全村面积6.6平方千米，耕地5019亩，常住连同流动人口约6500，户籍者4607人；村民主要姓郭、何、陈、黎、卢，分住在安顺涌、墩涌等八条河涌两岸。[2]村内有内外资企业18家，生产电子、服装、家具等；农业种植香蕉、果蔗和蔬菜。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年8月列入「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」（水果）；2026年1月，又获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
