太石村在东涌镇北部，北临沙湾水道，东濒骝岗水道，西靠西樵水道，下辖太婆份、石基两个自然村；博雅地名网把村名写作“泰石村”。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
村名是1950年定名时，从太婆份和石基两村各取一个字而来。何、冯二姓于清代开村。1961年村并入大乌大队，1974年独立为太石大队；1984年改乡，1987年起设村民委员会。1965至1967年曾办过一所农业中学。[1]
经济[edit]
据村情介绍，全村面积3.1平方千米，耕地1043亩，872户村民，设13个村民小组；村集体年收入948万元，主要来自厂房、商铺出租和鱼塘承包；太石工业区内有140多家企业。[1]
荣誉[edit]
该村于2019年9月进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之列，2022年上榜淘宝村，2024年11月被认定为「2024年广州市高质量就业社区（村）」。[1]
