大简村在东涌镇西部，自然村有大鹏、大指南、沙二堡、沙三堡等；村名由自然村名的“大”字加上简沥涌的“简”字组成。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代由何、黄、王姓开村。大简早先与大同村同属大乌乡，1962年分出，自成大简村。^[2]

大乌乡政府旧址在桥北队，建于民国初年；1946年何生利出资在其土地周边建了四座雕楼，另在大简涌尾、大鹏涌口等处也有雕楼，1958至1966年拆除；堤边尚存1946年移种的木棉树3棵，高20多米。^[2]

据村情介绍，全村面积4平方千米，17个生产队，总人口9900多人；2013年全村工农业总产值达10.65亿元，工业就占了10.01亿元。^[2]

大简村在2020至2022年的淘宝村名单中都有名。^[1]
