门口坑村在赤坭镇的西南部，河西片区，面积约4.38平方千米，下辖3个村民小组，约1080人（未注明年份）。村名来历有两种说法：村前有一条与村等长的水坑，或说旧时家家门口都有一道水渠。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村建于清代，已有两百多年。1962年与新进、鲤塘两个大队合并为鲤塘大队，1973年分开，另成门口坑大队。1987年设立门口坑村委会，先隶属赤坭区公所，当年3月起归赤坭镇人民政府管辖。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村南邻莲塘村，西接佛山市三水区，九曲河从村旁流过。村里鱼塘连片，本地的醉鲜种养发展农民专业合作社，经营的养殖水面超过2100亩。[2]2022年起，赤坭镇在村里开展“三池两坝”养殖尾水生态化处理，涉及养殖水面2181亩；2023年又把1260亩桉树林改种沙田柚、蜜梨等低矮果树。[2]
