黄塘村位于黄塘镇中心区，镇人民政府驻地即在本村，村域面积约3平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄的建制可上溯到北宋太平兴国六年（981年）。民国时属惠安县黄塘乡，新中国成立后，1958年归东红公社黄塘生产大队，1961年黄塘人民公社下设黄塘村生产大队，1984年10月起称黄塘村民委员会。[2]

地名的来历据说是：北宋年间中原人入闽戍边，见村口有一片池水浑黄的大池塘，于是以「黄塘」名村。[2]
