村名的来历：村里荔枝树多，因而得名。[1]
建制沿革：1952年土改时成立荔枝颈乡，1958年称大队，1983年改设乡政府，1989年称管理区，1999年起称荔枝颈村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
湛江市2020年度全市文明村（2021年1月）；2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布）。[1]
