村名由来：村子在原超竹乡的南部，所以叫超南。[1]
建制沿革，由近及远：1999年4月起称村民委员会至今；1989年称超南管理区；1987年称超南村民委员会；1983年称超南（小）乡；1978年1月分出，设超南大队；1978年以前归超竹大队管辖。[1]
经济[edit]
主要经济作物为甘蔗；挂钩扶贫单位拨来的扶持资金投入企业，按股分红。[1]
