墩背村是广东省梅州市平远县大柘镇辖下的行政村，位于大柘镇县城一带。据博雅地名网所载（未注明年份），村内分22个村民小组，登记861户、3567人，土地总面积11.22平方千米，耕地1260亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名由来：聚居的人家大屋后面有一座大土墩，墩背之名由此而来。[1]
建制沿革，由近及远：1999年4月起称村民委员会至今；1989年11月称墩背管理区；1987年称墩背村民委员会；1983年称墩背（小）乡；1958年9月改为墩背生产大队；1949年称墩背乡。[1]

主要经济作物为甘蔗。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
姚子青故居在墩背村大墩背，是一座客家围龙屋，清康熙三十年（1691年）初建，乾隆年间重修，土木结构，占地4518.29平方米，主体为三进五开间，月池和水井各一口，1995年、2004年各修葺一次。它在2014年1月被列为第二批梅州市文物保护单位，在2019年4月又成为第九批广东省文物保护单位。姚子青是淞沪会战中守卫宝山县城的营长。[2]
