地名与沿革[edit]
村建在山塘边，「益」字寄托居民从中受益之意。[2] 解放初隶流益乡；1953年并区并乡；到1958年归矮车管理区；1961年6月，矮车管理区升为矮车公社；1984年5月社改乡；1988年乡改镇，成为转水镇的益塘村管理区；1999年5月起称村委会。[3]
地理与益塘水库[edit]
村在转水镇西北，距镇政府约13千米，地形为丘陵，山岭以祖婆山、寨顶上、蕉坑岗山为主，其中最高处海拔460米；河流有矮车河。[1] 益塘水库在村境，毗邻转水、华城、潭下、横陂四镇，1971年动工，流域集雨面积251平方千米，总库容达1.65亿立方米，水面约1.2万亩，种有荔枝、柑橙、沙田柚近万亩。[1][4]
荣誉[edit]
2021年9月，益塘村以赤眼鳟入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
