地名与沿革[edit]
村名含先祖希望本宗精神绵长、后代昌盛之意。[2] 村情材料载，明朝天顺六年（1462年），先祖保旺公随谢氏及兄宗旺，自福建永定县迁到嘉应州长乐县（今五华县）长源坝上落户开基。[3] 新中国成立初期隶长源区；1953年推行乡制，成为长源乡；1968年划归转水公社；1978年转入矮车公社，仍称长源；1985年撤社建镇，长源大队属转水镇；1999年起设村民委员会。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2023年2月，长源村获2022年度五华县文明村镇称号。[1]
