地名与沿革[edit]
当地也称蛇塘窝。传说曾姓人家定居后在屋前挖塘，挖出一块形状像蛇的大石，石上的洞穴里藏着不少蛇，村名由此而来。[2] 新中国成立之初称蛇塘乡，1958年公社化时设蛇塘大队，1983年政社分设，改为乡政府，1989年起称蛇塘管理区，1999年再改设蛇塘村委会。[3]

村分38个村民小组，在册1243户、5383人，总面积6平方千米，耕地2901亩，种水稻，上一年农村经济总收入2635万元。[1] 2019年9月，村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
