历史沿革[edit]
社区名称据说是因当地地形像一只獭。[1]
中华人民共和国成立后，博罗县设獭子乡，归三区管辖；1956年11月撤区并乡，獭子乡由县直接管辖；1958年与桔子乡合并为公庄乡，同年10月1日起归公庄人民公社管。区乡建制于1983年11月恢复，隶公庄区，称獭子大队；1986年3月改区为镇，称獭子管理区；2000年成立居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
人口与职能[edit]
据博雅地名网，社区1994年设立，是全镇的政治、经济与文化中心，镇委、镇政府和县直属的多数行政事业单位设在辖区内；户籍人口3847人，分属1472户，常住约1.3万人（该页未注明年份）。社区在三十米大街建有办公楼。[1]
