下山村是白土镇最靠边的村，与莲塘镇上山村相邻，在新思路旁，面积3.5平方公里，分两个村民小组，博雅地名网载人口412人。[1]

村距白土镇圩12公里、距塱鹤圩3公里，村民赶集多去塱鹤圩。地势低洼，村民种稻，兼种蒲草加工草席，收入来自鱼塘、砖厂和部分租地，不少人外出谋生。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初隶七区西和乡。1955年办下山合作社，1958年建下山大队，属金龙公社；1959年入白土公社，并曾析为下山、塱尾二大队，1963年重合为下塱大队。此后依次是1983年下塱乡、1987年下塱村委会、1989年下山管理区，1998年成立村委会。[1]
