西登村是杏坛镇东南的行政村，距镇中心城区2.6公里，占地6.43平方千米，11个村民小组，户籍人口3189人[1]。北宋初年马、宁两姓迁居，后分上、下马宁，清末下马宁按方位改称西马宁，即今西登的前身[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网转录的资料，北宋初期马、宁两姓先民迁入，人口渐多，分为上马宁和下马宁两村；清末依方位改称西马宁村，曾用名下马宁村[1]。1958年杏坛人民公社设西登生产大队，接着1999年改称西登村委会[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
何彦墓在小金山北端，墓主何彦官至明代按察副使、太仆寺卿，旁为其父何千之墓[1]。
