海凌村是杏坛镇东南的行政村，南临西江河马宁水道，占地4.87平方千米，下设10个村民小组，户籍人口2953人[1]。清末由均安南沙及杏坛东马宁的人垦殖，后有渔民定居，之后1951年取海尾坊、凌化坊的首字，定名海凌[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网转录的资料，《顺德县地名志》记1950年以前此地称下北沙，分海尾坊与凌化坊[1]。1950年分属马昌乡、高辉乡，再后1951年属新联乡，接着1955年属蒲洲乡，随后1962年成立海凌大队，其后1999年改称海凌村委会[1]。
