桑麻村是杏坛镇的行政村，在镇中心区北2.5公里，东临顺德支流，占地3.58平方千米，户籍人口3883人[1]。南宋末年简姓人在此开垦，后苏、曾两姓迁入，称三麻，因“三”“桑”音近、村民多种桑养蚕而改作桑麻[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网转录的资料，村名由三麻改桑麻，缘由是读音相近且村民养蚕种桑[1]。1950年属保良乡，接着1954年成立桑麻乡，随后1958年改称大队，其后1983年复称乡，之后1987年改称村，再后1989年改称管理区，接着1999年定名桑麻村委会[1]。
经济[edit]
村里出产的广东省绿色食品“黑毛节”有一定知名度[1]。2020年、2021年、2022年，桑麻村连续入选阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单；随后2026年3月被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
北街古村落中的桑麻北街五巷2号民居为清代三间两廊式岭南民居，硬山顶，龙舟脊，镬耳山墙，总面阔10.1米，总进深13.2米[1]。
