海岱村是汕头市澄海区溪南镇的行政村，别名西埭头，在澄海城区北侧约10公里，位于324国道埭头路段的西侧。^[1]^[3] 相传北宋末年（约1124年）已有人在此结庐聚居。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据《澄海魏氏族谱》，明成化七年（1471年），魏氏入潮始祖廷璧的第七代孙西岳公为避祸，由冠陇（现澄华街道冠山社区）搬来，成了海岱魏氏的创乡始祖。^[1] 村地原属埭头村，清乾隆年间从埭头析出，因在埭头西边，叫西埭头；1956年借村中三山国王庙的门匾「镇佑海岱」，把西埭头改叫海岱社。^[1]^[2]

1946年并入银砂乡，1953年与埭头合称埭头乡，1957年归水东乡，1959年成立海岱生产大队。^[2]

博雅地名网所录村情写作386户、1628人，耕地543.1亩；1989年以后村里兴办造纸业，有规模以上造纸厂三家，二、三产业收入占全村总收入的七成以上。^[3] 村里有灯谜、潮乐等民间文娱，海岱小学占地8600平方米，2008年成立了助学基金会。^[3]
